Product Description: Kincaid Furniture 860-420 Mill House Beale Nightstand
Collection Features: The Mill House collection reaches back to our roots and highlights the old techniques utilized during the early days of American furniture making. During those times craftsman were limited to solid lumbers and the materials they had, and they used techniques that were functional and visible to construct the furniture they built. The furniture itself was built with a form-follows-function perspective which resulted in pieces that were inherently well made. Due to the use of those varying resources and the purposes for each piece, this led to a sort of unintended eclectic style which, ironically, is popular today.
It has been said that things aren't made the way they used to be, but at Kincaid, that's not exactly true. While several enhancements have been made since the beginning in 1946, Kincaid still uses solid wood construction, english dovetails, and hand rubbed finishes to craft solid wood furniture. The same can be said for the upholstery. Over the past 30 years, the Kincaid upholstery operations in North Carolina have built quality, bench made upholstery one piece at a time. And like Kincaid's solid wood furniture, the upholstery has also benefited from a number of enhancements that continue to add value for the customer.
