The Tropitone brand was originally established as a commercial brand in 1954 when car travel was starting to boom in the USA. As travelers became familiar with Tropitone brand products at hotels and resorts, they began asking where they could buy such comfortable, stylish and high quality products for their homes. Tropitone decided to fill that demand by offering commercial-quality products to the residential market.

La Scala Collection
The La Scala Seating Collection was inspired by the venerable opera house in Milan, Italy, from which the furniture takes its name. Tropitone and noted designer John Caldwell have created outdoor furniture that fuses the artistic heritage of the La Scala opera house with the timeless, old-world craftsmanship of Italy. The patio furniture collection is available in Relaxed Sling, Padded Sling, and Cross Strap. La Scala Chairs are crafted of durable powder-coated aluminum and are customizable with Tropitone's plethora of fabrics.
