Vaughan-Bassett was founded in 1919 by B.C. Vaughan and J.D. Bassett, Sr., from Bassett, Virginia. The company is based in Galax, Virginia, and for decades has been focused primarily on wooden bedroom furniture. Today, Vaughan-Bassett is the largest manufacturer of wooden adult bedroom furniture in the United States. A point of pride: the company emphasizes that its furniture is made in USA by American craftsmen, using wood harvested near their manufacturing plants.
